cine plus is an official partner of Berlinale

Berlin, 14 Feb. 2006/ Cine plus is co-operating as official partner with the Berlin International Film Festival this year. As official media-service provider for the Berlinale, cine plus operates the digital projection equipment in the Berlinale movie theaters, at the European Film Market and the Co-production Market, the Talent Campus, and other festival locations. SD and HD equipment is applied here, offering a resolution of up to 2k.

„The first challenge was to realize the whole set-up within 36 hours. About 40 technicians are working for cine plus during the whole festival, at approximately 15 venues, 24/7, in order to guarantee smooth procedures," says Ralph Niebuhr, cine plus Project Manager of Technology.

cine plus also sponsors the Berlinale Talent Campus by helping with the post-production of the „Talent Movies of the Week“ and the „Volkswagen Score Competition“. Additionaly cine plus is involved in the production of the films nominated for the Berlin Today Award, which is being awarded at the beginning of the Talent Campus events.

Further activities include the design and realization of the Web TV Channel for the TEDDY AWARD (www.teddyaward.tv) and the production of the ARTE show staged for the TEDDY AWARD ceremony. cine plus has made the media equipment available for Meggie Schneider's installation HOBBYKELLER in the atrium of Cinema Arsenal, where the artist attracted major attention at the festival last year, when she presented „4Kitchens“.

Frank Evers, CEO of cine plus Group, says, "We are particularly glad to be an official partner of Berlinale this year. We are a full-service provider for events, film, television, and online services. We offer a wide range of services and cover, almost all relevant fieldsin a cross-sectional approach: from broadcast equipment and control-room systems to large-format SD and HD projection, including image and sound postproduction, and distribution via satellite or webcasting."

(Boomtownmedia) and INTO GREAT SILENCE (Philip Gröning Film), HAPPY AS ONE (K5 Film) is having its premiere at Berlinale this year. „We are happy to announce that HAPPY AS ONE will be screened in the Panorama Special section, and wish Vanessa Jopp a lot of success with her new film, which is as exciting, beautiful, and extraordinary, as its origin and production", says Christian Colmorgen, cine plus Manager for Co-productions. The microcosm “house” is a survival structure/architecture where work, leisure, family, and finally the hobby are organized as a cosmos. In the center this year is the hobby cellar. Like the installations 'Ich sitze gern' (I Like to Sit – Forum 2004) and '4kitchens' (Forum 2005), In the atrium of Cinema Arsenal at Potsdamer Platz:
