cine plus makes further progress in the development of digital post-production with BASELIGHT systems.
Berlin 8 June 2007 // With its BASELIGHT colour-correction system, media service
provider CINE PLUS has further improved the high-end line of its digital
post-production service. The newly acquired grading and finishing system offers
processing possibilities at the highest level in SD, HD, 2K and 4K. Unlike
conventional technologies, its non-linear architecture offers completely new
creative possibilities – at any time and at every point in the project history.
One of the advantages is a considerable time saving, especially when
requirements are complex.
Thanks to the integrated TRUELIGHT colour management, CINE PLUS can also offer "what-you-see-is-what-you-get"
at all processing stages. For example, both the cameramen and the colourists can
already see how the later exposed film will look on the screen during digital
grading. There is no need for time-consuming test exposures or colour-alignment
work in the film lab. By offering a choice between any number of layers for
primary and secondary colour correction and various other options, the system
guarantees a wide range of creative possibilities, such as the automatic capture
of moving picture contents for partial corrections that are synchronous with
movement. The new BASELIGHT is thus becoming an integral part of CINE PLUS's
post-production system for high-resolution formats and – by interacting with the
existing AVID NITRIS 4:4:4 systems and HDCAM SR recorders – guarantees a
practically loss-free workflow in digital post-production.
"We are delighted that, with the BASELIGHT system, we have now completed our
high-end line for high-resolution formats," says Frank Evers, managing director
of the cine plus group. And Helge Neubronner, head of operations and technology,
adds: "Thanks to our continuous commitment to digital production and
post-production, we can today offer the entire technical service for digital
cinematography from a single source: from the camera work to cutting, conforming,
visual effects and grading up to the HD/SD broadcasting master and the exposed
35mm negative."
