"Flaechenbrand" ("Conflagration") is the first cinema
and TV spot to be made by an association called "Gesicht
zeigen!" ("Show your True Colours") which was set up by
Uwe-Karsten Heye, Paul Spiegel and Michel Friedman. The
spot is part of a well-received PR campaign that was developed
together with the agencies DDB and Toechter & Soehne. The spot
was shot on HDCAM. The flames and fire seen in the spot were
produced separately and later merged with the other pictures by
compositing. "Flaechenbrand" has been screened by the German TV
stations ARD, SAT 1, RTL, RTL II, KABEL 1, Pro 7, Vox, MTV, VIVA, n-tv,
Phoenix, MDR, WDR, as well as in 1,200 German cinemas, among other places.
